Our Staff
Sam Brown Owner / Team Coach
I am the owner of All-American Gymnastics. I have been involved with Gymnastics for over 25 years. I have been a gymnast, coach, and now a parent of a few little gymnasts. Some of my gymnastics accomplishments include
- 1989 Junior Olympic National All-Around, Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor Champion
- 1990 Junior International Beam Champion
- 1993-1995 USA Senior National Team Member
- 1996-1999 Member of University of Georgia Gymnastics Team
- 4-Time All-American
- 1996-1999 SEC Team Champions
- 1998 &1999 NCAA National Team Champions
- Had the opportunity to compete throughout the USA, and in England, Scotland, Canada, Japan, and Bahamas.
I started my coaching career immediately following my graduation at UGA with a BBA in Risk Management & Insurance. I coached at a local gym shortly, and then decided to open my own facility in Mcdonough, GA called All-American Gymnastics. There I taught a variety of classes as well as team. I had several state champions, regional qualifiers, regional team members, and I had one qualify to the National "B" TOPs Team. I sold the business and our family moved to Savannah, GA. In Savannah, I have coached several state individual champions, regional and national qualifiers. In January 2007, I began teaching preshool and tumbling classes to the children at Savannah Country Day School and am currently still love teaching many of their young students. I decided to open another gym here in Savannah because I love to teach and coach young children. I believe gymnastics is great sport for children of all ages, and really teaches many valuable skills and life lessons. I believe gymnastics has been such a positive experience in my life and has allowed my opportunities that many young people do not get a chance to experience.

Talia Upchurch Compulsory Team Director
Talia Upchurch grew up in Gilroy, California where she started gymnastics at the age of three. She trained at Almaden Valley Gymnastics Club in San Jose, CA. Talia placed 2nd all-around at level 9 State and Regionals for two consecutive years in a row and made both State and Regional teams. She competed as a level 10 gymnast for three years before earning a scholarship to compete on the University of California, Santa Barbara NCAA Division 1 Women's Gymnastics Team. She competed all-around in college, but her favorite events to compete for the team were floor and bars. Talia majored in Biopsychology at UCSB, and thoroughly enjoyed her experience as a college athlete. Talia married her college sweetheart in 2005, who is now a soldier for the U.S. Army. The couple moved across country to Savannah, where they started their lives together. In her free time, Talia loves running, biking, lifting, rock climbing, and visiting her family and friends back in California. Talia has been coaching compulsory and optional gymnasts for over eight years now and she has found it to be her passion. Talia feels very blessed to be a part of the All-American coaching staff.
